Whisper Transcriber ("the App") is a macOS desktop application that converts speech to text entirely on your device. Your privacy is fundamental to our product design. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

The App processes all audio locally on your Mac using on-device AI models. As a result:

• Audio recordings are never sent to any server. They are processed in memory and deleted immediately after transcription.
• Transcribed text is never transmitted externally. It stays on your device and is pasted directly into your active application.
• We have no access to the content of your recordings or transcriptions at any time.

2. Data We Collect

To improve the product and understand usage patterns, the App may collect minimal, anonymous telemetry data including:

• App version and macOS version
• Selected AI model and language preferences
• Transcription count (number only, not content)
• Crash reports and error diagnostics (via Sentry)

This data is fully anonymous and cannot be linked to any individual user. No personal information, IP addresses, or device identifiers are collected.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses Sentry for crash reporting and error monitoring. Sentry receives only technical diagnostic data (stack traces, OS version, app version) and no personal or audio data. No data from the desktop App is shared with any advertising or analytics platform.

4. Website Tracking, Cookies & Advertising Pixels

Our website (whispertranscriber.com) uses the following technologies to analyze traffic, measure advertising performance, and improve user experience:

• Google Tag Manager (GTM) — A tag management system that may load additional tracking scripts on our website.
• Google Analytics / Google Ads — Used to understand website traffic, measure ad campaign performance, and track conversions (e.g., downloads, purchases). Google may collect anonymized browsing data, IP address (anonymized), device type, and pages visited.
• Meta (Facebook) Pixel — May be used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on Meta platforms. The pixel may collect data such as pages visited, buttons clicked, and purchase events.
• Other advertising platforms — We may use additional tracking pixels or conversion tags from platforms such as TikTok, LinkedIn, or X (Twitter) to measure ad performance. These tools collect anonymized interaction data on our website only.

These tracking technologies apply exclusively to our website and are completely separate from the desktop App. The App itself contains no advertising pixels, cookies, or third-party tracking scripts. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings or by using browser extensions such as ad blockers.

5. Data Storage & Security

Since the App runs entirely offline after the initial AI model download:

• No user data is stored on our servers.
• License keys are stored locally on your device and verified against our licensing server.
• Anonymous telemetry data is stored in a secure Cloudflare D1 database with restricted access.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. You can disable anonymous telemetry at any time from the App's menu. If you have purchased a license and wish to have your purchase record removed, contact us and we will process your request.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
